This weekend is going to be wild, and it's all
due to Nadine Condon.
She's bringing "Nadine's Wild Weekend," a three-day
music showcase featuring some of the best up-and-coming Bay Area
bands, to San Francisco.
The event will be held at various nightclubs around
the City and is expected to draw representatives from major record
labels, as well as music publishers, but the public is also
Condon, a 20-year music industry veteran, has worked
with such acts as Jefferson Starship and Melissa Etheridge. In the
late 1980's she established a consultancy with BMI to develop
unsigned band showcases.
But, according to Condon, this weekend's music
festival won't be about meetings and panels and conferences. It will
be more about appreciating the talent playing in the Bay Area right
"Whenpeople talk about the good old days of San
Francisco music, I say this is the good old days," she says.
